In winter, the locals describe Ibiza as a "jewel". Hillsides are full of wild flowers, joined in February by fields of beautiful almond trees in blossom. It's a great time to run on the island, with weather which is more like spring in the UK or northern Europe. You'll see the sun most days, with only about 45 days per year of rain. Average daytime temperatures are around 16degC in January, although it often feels even warmer in the sun.
And as you're running along the water's edge with the beach pretty much to yourself, you may just spot a rare species of Ibiza winter swimmer :)
Running in spring on the island is a joy, with warmer weather and the scent of orange and lemon blossom. Many of the popular restaurants, bars and hotels re-open around Easter.
The long summer days turn up the heat and humidity. As temperatures in July and August often exceed 30degC, we recommend early morning and evening runs, with the chance to experience stunning sunrises and sunsets. Don't forget your sunscreen!
October and November are wonderful months, as tranquility makes a welcome return and fields and meadows scorched by the summer sun turn emerald green. With sea temperatures averaging 21degC in October it's a perfect time for a refreshing post-run swim in the crystal clear sea.
